INSIDE CRS: Former Governor Sen Liyel Imoke Paids Governor Bassey Otu Courtesy Visit

Former Governor Sen. Liyel Imoke Pays Courtesy Visit to Governor Bassey Otu

In a notable display of political camaraderie and support, former Governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke, paid a courtesy visit to the current Governor, Bassey Otu. The visit took place at the Governor's office in Calabar, where both leaders engaged in discussions centered on the state's development and continuity of governance.

Senator Imoke, who served as Governor from 2007 to 2015, expressed his confidence in Governor Otu's leadership and reiterated his commitment to supporting initiatives that would benefit the people of Cross River State. Governor Otu, in turn, welcomed the former governor's visit, highlighting the importance of unity and collaboration among past and present leaders for the progress of the state.

The meeting is seen as a positive step towards fostering a collaborative political environment, ensuring that the interests of Cross River State remain paramount.

This moment should serve as a reminder to those in power today and those aspiring to be that power is temporary and can swiftly change hands. As a human, former Gov. Imoke may have thought in 2015 that he might  be visiting his friend as Governor in 2023, but life has taken a different turn.

If these images don't teach you a lesson, it's unlikely that anything else will.

I thank God for His mercies upon Gov. Otu's life, and I  admire former Gov. Imoke's humility in this moment.
