APC Chieftain Joe Igbokwe Urges TinubuTo Address Rising Electricity Tariffs, Warns Of Business Impact

Joe Igbokwe, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently address the recent hike in electricity tariffs in Nigeria.

Igbokwe, a strong advocate of Tinubu’s administration, expressed concerns that the increased tariffs could cripple businesses if swift action is not taken by the government.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Igbokwe shared his frustration, noting that N20,000 worth of electricity units now only last a day.

The APC leader urged the government to reassess the current tariff rates. He said: "President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, please review the new electricity tariff in Nigeria. If not addressed soon, it will devastate businesses. I have a small office in Surulere with seven air conditioning units. We used to get over 300 units for N20,000, but now the same amount lasts just one day. It's called the Band A group. I hope this gets reviewed.”
