The Nigeria Democratic Front (NDF) has called for a thorough investigation into Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South, over allegations of ties with wanted bandits. In a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the NDF expressed concern over Buba's alleged affiliation with criminal elements, which they say could be contributing to Nigeria's ongoing insecurity crisis.
The NDF emphasized that given Buba's role as Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, these allegations must be thoroughly examined. The group demanded that Buba be temporarily removed from his position pending the investigation to prevent further compromise of the nation's security efforts. Senator Buba, however, denied any direct link to the alleged bandit, stating that the individual in question had been nominated by community leaders for a pilgrimage.
